Scott Oakes - Bassoon
Bassoonist Scott Charles Oakes holds a Master's Degree from the DePaul University School of Music and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers were William Buchman and M. Donald DaGrade. He is a member of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra and a former member of the Illinois Philharmonic and Rockford Symphony. He has also performed with various groups in the Chicago area, including the Elgin Symphony, Lake Forest Symphony, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, and the New Millennium Orchestra. Scott's other appearances include performances with the Aspen Festival Orchestra, Aspen Chamber Symphony, Des Moines Metro Opera, Southern Illinois Music Festival, and the Ravinia Festival.
